Orpheus was the greatest musician and poet from Greek mythology – a seeker of harmony – inspired by many things, including great wine. In my quest to blend something unique, I paired this Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (76%) from the Mt. George area just east of the Silverado Trail, with its notes of cedar, currant, and mint, with the nuances of plum, blackberry, and toasted coffee of a Chilean merlot (17%). To complete the score, I added mountain-grown Argentinean Malbec (7%) from Mendoza, noted for its dark chocolate finish. Together they all imprint their own unique character on the Orpheus III, which you can enjoy now and for the next 7-10 years. You’ll discover, together, they create a harmony and celebrate a new style of winemaking.

Orabella VI - $30/Bottle - Sold Out
Continuing my quest, I followed an Italian style and fashioned a blend I call Orabella, meaning “golden and beautiful".
Our Orabella VI is 50% premium Napa Chardonnay made in
the White Burgandy method, aged in neutral
French oak,
then blended with a fine Italian Pinot Grigio (50%) from a small vineyard in the Friuli region
of Northern Italy.
This pairing produces a balance between fruit and minerality creating a wine that can start with appetizers and transition to a main course of fish or light meats. The nose invites you in with aromas of melon and florals (Jasmine) leading you to a smooth finish of light green apples. Ideally this wine should be served at cellar temperature of 56-58 degrees.
